DPS Skis Unveils Revolutionary Full Carbon Fiber Carving Ski: Pisteworks®

DPS Skis, an American ski manufacturer renowned for its pioneering aerospace-grade carbon fiber technology, has announced the launch of Pisteworks®, a product that redefines alpine carving skis. Pisteworks® is the first full carbon fiber carving ski introduced by DPS, the carbon fiber skiing expert. The characteristics of carbon fiber – active resilience, efficient energy transfer, and exceptional durability – make it an ideal choice for high-performance carving skis. Pisteworks® utilizes premium proprietary carbon fiber, combined with state-of-the-art lab and on-snow testing, pushing the limits of design, manufacturing, and performance for high-performance carving skis. “For decades, the construction of frontside carving skis has relied on metals and fiberglass for stability and comfort. Our goal was to provide the same stability through carbon fiber while challenging this norm by leveraging carbon fiber’s inherent flexibility. Carbon fiber represents the pinnacle of performance materials in other high-performance applications, and carving skis are no exception.” – Thomas Laakso, Senior Vice President of DPS Skis

The new Pisteworks® carving ski was developed through static lab testing and dynamic on-snow data collection, enabling fine-tuning of the ski’s performance in every turn. Ted Ligety, a four-time Olympic and World Cup skiing champion, spearheaded the design and testing of Pisteworks® skis. DPS also engaged with the world’s leading carbon fiber labs to enhance its proven carbon fiber technology, which is already used in its all-mountain, powder, and touring skis. “The goal of high-performance carving skis has always been to handle high-gravity turns while maintaining maximum traction and responsiveness. By analyzing real-time data during turns and optimizing the feedback loop, we’ve developed a ski that provides a stable and exhilarating ride throughout the entire turn.”– Ted Ligety, Director of Product Performance at DPS Skis.
